New Ferris® Commercial Walk-Behind Improves Operator Control and Ease of Use

MUNNSVILLE, NY (March 17, 2014) – The new Ferris®  FW35 dual hydrostatic commercial walk-behind mower offers operators smoother, more user-friendly operation. Featuring a cruise control bar and independent steering with a speed indicator, the FW35 provides superior operator control under all cutting conditions.

Ergonomic hand controls let the user change direction quickly from left to right, or pull the handles up completely for reverse. The controls operate with a light touch to reduce operator fatigue and the control tensions can be fine-tuned for different operators and condition. A centralized foot control puts the unit in neutral. The operator can stop the mower blades simply by putting the mower in the neutral position and releasing the operator presence handles, while the engine continues to run. It's a great feature that improves productivity and is found on all new FW35 models.

There are three FW35 models from which to choose. Powerful Kawasaki® 20.5 or 23.5 gross horsepower* FX series engine options are paired with a choice of 48”, 52” and 61” cutting widths. Decks are constructed of rugged 10-gauge steel with double top deck, overlap welded corners and double reinforced side skirts, and a steel reinforced leading edge.

Key features include independent, commercial Hydro-Gear® ZT-3100® transaxles, a ground speed of up to 7 mph, cutting height adjustments from 1.5” to 4.75”, and a 5-gallon fuel tank. Mow up to 3.5 acres/hour based on 80% efficiency.
